We Christians don’t follow a religion, we follow Jesus Christ and I want to explain why. I also researched islam a lot but God showed me the truth: 1.We as humans have a fallen nature that we inherited from Adam and Eve. This means we are sinful and we cannot do anything about it. We love sin more than God, that’s why it’s so hard to live according to God’s law. It’s in our nature to be attracted to sin. 2.But God’s standard is perfection. In God’s eyes there is no bigger or smaller sin. If we sin only once in our lifetime, no matter what sin, we are not perfect anymore. If we trespass one law it’s like we have trespassed all the laws. There is no one closer or further away from God, we have all sinned, the only difference between mankind and God is that He is perfect and we are not perfect. God sent the law to show us how sinful we are, He knew we wouldn’t be able to respect it. 3.Because God is just He must punish us for our sins. God cannot simply forgive you because then He wouldn’t be just. He sent a law, if we don’t respect it perfectly our punishment is death, because that’s just, no matter how many good deeds you do. God could only forgive us if someone took our punishment instead of us. 4. Jesus took that punishment on the cross and then resurrected. When we accept Him our fallen human nature is crucified with him, and we are no longer slaves to it and to our desires, because it’s no longer our fallen nature that lives, but we as born again in Christ (read romans 6)
